Google leaks full Pixel 10 series on Play Store

    TL;DR

    • We’re about one month away from the launch of the Pixel 10 series.
    • Google started official teasing the Pixel 10 Pro earlier this week on the Google Store.
    • Now we’ve spotted the full lineup of Pixel 10 models, ready for some Play Store promotion.

You had better believe that Google’s promotion of the Pixel 10 series will seriously step up as we start getting closer to launch, with the company’s Made by Google event scheduled for August 20. And while that could go in a lot of different directions, it looks like we just got an early glimpse at one of Google’s official teasers of the entire Pixel 10 lineup.

While poking around the Google Play Store app on Android, we were able to surface a banner that looks like it’s one Google will be using to advertise the Pixel 10 series at some point post-launch. At least, between that “Now available” text and the October 13 deadline for the $50-off deal being promoted, this is probably something users might expect to see on the Play Store across September.

This is the first official Google imagery we’re seeing that includes the complete series: the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Wanting to get the best look available at a find like that, we set out to extract the image in as high resolution as possible, and here it is, one more time, uncropped:

It sucks that Google went with such drab shades in this render across the Pro models, but at least we get the Pixel 10 itself in that bold Indigo blue, which (along with Limoncello) is easily one of the best Pixel colors set to be offered this year.

Considering how thoroughly the Pixel 10 lineup feels like it’s leaked already, we wonder when we might start getting the same kind of luck with the rest of the new hardware we’re anticipating from Google’s August event. We’ve heard lots of Pixel Watch 4 tech details, but are still waiting to take a peek at the actual unit. And the picture is even less clear when we’re talking about some new Pixel Buds earbuds. We’ll keep digging around for any sign of either, and update you on any further Pixel 10 assets we’re able to get out of the Play Store.

Samsung Making It Even Easier to Get Galaxy Z Fold 7 for $899

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 arrives in stores at the end of the week and that means we could see the end of the current pre-order deals Samsung is running. As we approach the potential end, I have good news to share about that previously semi-secret Galaxy Z Fold 7 deal that required you to buy the new foldable through the Shop Samsung app. As of today, Samsung is giving the same bonus $100 discount without the app!

The final best Galaxy Z Fold 7 pre-order deal: For those who missed it, we discovered a special promotion that Samsung was initially only offering to those who had reserved prior to launch and who were willing to buy the Z Fold 7 through the Shop Samsung app. The special deal was giving folks a discount that dropped the Fold 7 to as low as $899 with trade-in. It was easily the best deal you would find anywhere.

However, buying through the Shop Samsung app and going through all of those extra steps wasn’t for everyone. Thankfully, you can now just tap that link below and it’ll give you that same deal, which is as follows:

    • $220 off for storage upgrade: Samsung is still offering a free storage upgrade form 256GB to 512GB, which is valued at $120. But with this special deal, you actually get $220 off for reasons we can’t explain, you just do. That’s where the bonus $100 discount comes from, making this the best price you’ll find.
    • Up to $1,000 off with trades: And then of course, you will want to trade in a device to get more of an instant discount, up to $1,000 off. A Galaxy Z fold 6 or Galaxy S25 Ultra will get you the full $1,000, but there are others worth $900 or $800 and so on.

Pre-orders end soon, so get after it. If you order today, it could still get here by launch day.

  • Switch 2 has become the fastest selling video game hardware device in US history, usurping the PS4

Switch 2 has become the fastest selling video game hardware device in US history, usurping the PS4

Nintendo’s Switch successor – the aptly named Switch 2 – has become the fastest selling video game hardware device in US history, knocking the PS4 off the top spot.

That’s according to the latest data from Circana, with analyst Mat Piscatella revealing 1.6m Switch 2 units were sold in the US during the console’s launch month. The previous record holder was Sony’s PlayStation 4, with 1.1m units sold during November 2013.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given what I have just told you, the Switch 2 was the best-selling console of the month in terms of both physical unit sales and dollar sales.

Mario Party Switch 2 May Be Fun, but Is It Just an Overpriced Gimmick? Watch on YouTube

Piscatella said 82 percent of US Switch 2 owners who purchased their console in June also plumped for launch title Mario Kart World. This was either via a physical new game sale or as part of the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle.

These figures come despite the tariff situation in US around the Switch 2’s launch. As a reminder, Nintendo delayed pre-orders in the US back in April. It additionally raised the cost of Switch 2 accessories in US due to tariffs. Meanwhile, some US retailers were reportedly cancelling pre-orders ahead of the console’s launch.

All in all, the launch of the Switch 2 boosted the gaming market more generally. Consumer spending in the US – for both hardware and accessories – reached new all-time records. Last month, hardware spending in the US rose by 249 percent compared to this time last year, to $978 million. The previous high for June was $608m, which was recorded in 2008.

June accessories spending in the US, meanwhile, reached $293m. The previous record was $247m, which happened in June 2021.

“What the launch sales of Switch 2 primarily tell us is that they made a lot of Switch 2 to sell at launch,” Piscatella said to IGN, when asked if this record breaking launch means that the Switch 2 is now set to surpass the original Switch’s lifetime sales. In February of this year, Nintendo had sold 150.86m Switch consoles.

“Lifetime sales and launch sales of a console often do not correlate, meaning that some consoles with small launches ended up doing incredibly well,” Piscatella continued, noting that the PlayStation 2 only sold 400k in its launch month.

“Since launch month demand is rarely satiated by available supply (and it is certainly not a great sign when it is, historically) all we can really get a read on at launch is the confidence of the manufacturer to make so many units available, and the ability of the supply chain to get those units into the market,” the analyst closed.

“But having the biggest launch month sales for any new video game hardware platform is a helluva good start.”

On its debut last month, the Switch 2 became Nintendo’s fastest-selling hardware ever, shifting 3.5m units worldwide in its first four days on sale. News of those initial sales came despite criticism of the console’s high cost, as well as the price of its games and accessories.
