    Nintendo identifies Xenoblade Chronicles X issue on Switch 2


    Nintendo provided another status update on Switch 1 backwards compatibility for Switch 2 this week, and has now reported a bug with Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.

    The game itself is largely playable. However, a notice has now been shared that “voices may be out of sync in some areas.” You may seen this in some cutscenes.

    While Nintendo is noticing this now, it seems that some players have been running into the issue for quite some time. As we were looking into this, we found some fans talking about the bug right after the Nintendo Switch 2 launch. The good news is that it’s not a massive issue, and now that it’s been brought to Nintendo’s attention, it can be fixed.

    Aside from the bug fix, something else Xenoblade Chronicles X fans would like to see is a proper update that takes advantage of the new system. Evidence was previously found of possible 60 FPS support. Some believed this was a sign that an update was planned to allow those on Nintendo Switch 2 to play as a higher frame rate. However, so far, nothing has materialized. 

    In other backwards compatibility news, Nobody Saves the World from Guacamelee developer DrinkBox is now fully functional on Nintendo Switch 2 as of this week. This title was previously identified as having issues on the console. It was previously part of the group categorized as “games with issues that prevent progress on Nintendo Switch 2, including games with start up issues”.
